Hair Salon Receipt Template

A Hair Salon Receipt Template is a useful tool when setting the details behind a Hair Client’s paper in writing so that payment may be approved and retained by the Hair Salon.  Standard procedure in the majority of Salons involves answering the Client (and Hair Salon) need to have his or her payment documented for the sake of good record-keeping. This process also results in a tracking system the Hair Salon can employ to discern which of its services and products sell and which do not. Only a basic amount of information is needed by the template or form on this page to achieve these goals plus a few more. Once the receipt has been furnished with the Client and Salon information it requests and the payment approval from the Client obtained, it may then become a matter of fact in the filing system of Hair Salon and Client alike.

Step 2 – Identify The Hair Salon Behind This Receipt

The acquired receipt will need to be filled out section by section before it can be issued to the Client. The first field (“Company Name”) should be populated with the full Business Name of the Hair Salon. Next, input the full “Name” of the Hair Salon Employee accepting and confirming the Client’s payment on the first blank line after the text field. The address of the Hair Salon or its mailing address should be displayed with its Business Name. Thus, furnish the Hair Salon’s “Street Address,” “City, State,” and “Country” on the next two lines by inputting the address information requested by each of these lines. Complete the Hair Salon’s address using the next line (labeled “Zip Code”) to present the proper postal code.  Record the Hair Salon’s telephone number and email address immediately after its mailing information on the lines labeled “Phone” and “E-Mail.”

Step 3 – Produce The Salon Payment’s Filing Information

The Hair Salon will need a record number for this transaction’s payment. Generate then report this number according to the Hair Salon’s bookkeeping system on the blank line “Receipt #.” Follow up on the receipt’s filing number by attaching the hair appointment’s payment “Date” on the next line to the right.

Step 4 – Introduce The Paying Hair Client

The Hair Salon Customer must now be discussed and given credit for the salon appointment or product’s payment. A few lines in the “Customer/Client Information” focus on this Party and expect your entries to identify him or her. Submit a record of the Hair Client’s full “Name’ on the first line in this section.  The three lines that follow are devoted to displaying the Hair Client’s entire address. Produce the “Street Address” (building number, street/road, apartment number), “City, State, Country,” and “Zip Code” on these blank lines.  Follow up on the Hair Client’s “Name” and address with the “Phone” number and “E-Mail” address where this Party can be reached.

Step 5 – Discuss The Hair Salon Appointment That Required Payment

A distinct table in the center of this receipt will seek a detailed recording of the dates and times of the hairstyling/cutting sessions and/or the names of the salon products that were purchased. This documentation of the Hair Salon Client’s transaction should be displayed in “Description.”

Step 6 – Record The Figures Making Up The Paid Amount

The “Amount” field in this table is the first one in the second column. Here, the base costs of the purchased salon goods and services should be delivered here.  Add all the salon charges to a “Subtotal” amount that leaves out all discounts and taxes. Furnish this determined sum to the box corresponding to the “Subtotal” box.  The “Discount” section of this column seeks the dollar amount of any promotion, coupon, or other deduction applied to the “Subtotal.”  Next, apply the relevant “Tax” codes for this transaction to the “Subtotal.” If a “Tax” must be collected with the payment, then enter this amount in the appropriately labeled field.  The previous fields populated with dollar values will need to be used to document the “Total.” Subtract any discounts afforded the hair Client from the “Subtotal” then add the determined “Tax” to this figure. This result must be furnished to “Total.”

Step 7 – A Formal Delivery Of Additional Information Can Be Included

The Hair Salon may wish to include short messages or care instructions to this receipt. If so, then supply this content to the blank lines labeled “Notes.”

Step 8 – Supplement The Language Of A Basic Declaration Of Payment

A statement discussing this receipt continues this paperwork. Seek the blank line after the first part of this statement (“The Total Amount Of $”) and record the amount paid by the Hair Client on the blank line presented.  The second area of this sentence requests the name of the Hair Client to be furnished to the second blank line it contains.  This sentence expects a final detail supplied. Input the hair appointment (or product) payment date on the last blank line.

Step 9 – Submit A Description Of The Payment Type

The final section here calls for a report on the Hair Client’s “Payment Method” for the transaction above. The four checkbox labels in this section define should be used to define how payment was submitted. If a credit card was used by the Hair Client to pay for the products and services defined on this receipt then mark the first checkbox on the left and enter the “Credit Card No.” appearing on the card to the blank line presented.   A check payment will necessitate the second checkbox to be selected. Check or fill in this object and record the ledger number where requested on the blank line after “Check No.”  Choose the checkbox corresponding to the label “Cash” if the Hair Client paid for the “Total” with paper money.  The last description is useful should the payment have been submitted in another way. If so, then select the checkbox carrying the “Other” label then deliver a description of the Hair Client’s method of payment

Step 10 – Gain The Hair Appointment Client’s Signature

The “Customer’s Authorized Signature” set this receipt’s completion upon the Hair Client’s act of signing. The Hair Client should, thus, review the above information then sign the “Customer’s Authorized Signature” line so that the Hair Salon may complete this transaction with the act of payment.

The Hair Salon Receipt displayed in the example on this page should be accessed directly from this page. To accomplish this, select the “Microsoft Excel (.xlsx)” link (or the button “Excel”) to download this file.

Step 2 – Introduce The Hair Salon

The paid Hair Salon must be identified as this receipt’s Issuer. This process will be handled in the first column beginning with cell A1. Use the “Insert” option in the ribbon to replace the current text “Add Your Company Logo Here” with the Hair Salon’s logo.

Cell A2 and A3 both request names. First, replace the “Company Name” wording in cell A2 with Hair Salon’s Business Name then produce the full “Name” of the Salon Employee handling this transaction in cell A3 (after the label “Name”).

Proceed down this column with a report on the Hair Salon’s business address. Furnish it as a “Street Address,” “City, State, Country,” and “Zip Code” in cells A4, A5, and A6.

The Hair Salon’s email address should be displayed as a convenience to the Customer. Dispense it in cell A7 then continue the courtesy by inputting the telephone number monitored by the Hair Salon to cell A8.

Step 3 – Deliver The Hair Salon Receipt’s Information

The final topic of discussion for the header can be found on the right. Notice the two cell titles here “Receipt #” and “Date.” These items refer to cells F3 and H3 and expect that the transaction or receipt number the Hair Salon has assigned this payment be input along with the “Date” that payment was received.

Step 4 – Identify The Salon Customer

The receipt will continue requiring details in column A. Find cell A11, in the “Customer/Client Information” portion of this column, then deliver the Salon Customer’s full “Name” to this field. A few fields have been reserved for the Salon Customer’s mailing address. Cell A12 (“Street Address”), cell A13 (“City, State, Country”), and cell A14 (“Zip Code”) expect the details that make up this address to be supplied by component. Finally, submit the Salon Customer’s “E-Mail” address and “Phone” number down the final two cells of this section (cell A15 and cell A16 respectively).

Step 5 – Furnish The Details Of The Purchased Salon Goods And Services

The Salon Customer’s purchase must be documented for the sake of securing payment then retaining it. The first available field in a table on display will expect a report on the salon merchandise, services, and/or appointment times that were purchased by its Customer. Supply these items to cell A19.

Step 6 – Dispense The Pricing Used To Determine The Salon Total

The adjacent field, cell H19, seeks the pricing schedule that was applied to the services and goods the Salon charged for. You may report an itemized list of dollar values in this field, under “Amount,” or produce the sum owed.  Cell H20 of this sheet will seek a recording of the total owed without being subjected to taxation or discounts. Therefore, add all the salon costs above to a “Subtotal” and dispense it to cell H20. The next field, cell H21, seeks any salon discounts given to the Customer during this purchase. Supply this dollar value accordingly.  Many local governments will seek to collect taxes on products sold in a business and some will impose a service “Tax.” Any such dollar amount should be determined using the current laws and documented in cell H22.  Now, deduct the “Discount” from the “Subtotal.” This dollar value should then have the reported “Tax” added to it. Once done, this final amount will be the “Total” that should be documented in cell H23. This must be the Salon Customer’s submitted payment.

Step 7 – Serve Details To The Declaration Statement

This receipt will also wish to present its report as a declaration. Cell A24 shall hold this declaration however in order for it to apply, some entries of fact are necessary. The first of which is the dollar amount paid by the Salon Customer. This number must be used as a replacement for the symbol following the language “The Total Amount Of $…”

After naming the paid amount, record the identity of its submitter, the Salon Customer, as a replacement for the bracketed “Name” label.  The “Date” when the salon charges were paid must be furnished as the final phrase of the sentence in cell A24.

Step 8 – Assign The Salon Customer’s Method Of Payment To This Receipt

The “Payment Method” below the declaration shall seek a selection from a grouping of checkboxes to define how the Salon Customer paid for the discussed goods and services. If by credit card, then select the “Credit Card No.” checkbox in cell A27 by clicking in it. This will also seek the credit card number delivering the funds input after the label.  Document a payment by check using the selection “Check No.” in cell A28. To do so, select the box in this field with your mouse then enter the four-digit ledger number presented don the submitted payment.  Produce a checkmark in cell F27 to document a “Cash” payment.  The “Other” box in this grouping should be selected from cell F28 if the previous definitions are inadequate to fully define the Salon Customer’s payment. This option also seeks dialogue on the payment method supplied after the label.

Step 9 – Acquire The Salon Customer’s Signature

For this paperwork to be an effective receipt, it must be signed by the Salon Customer. The “Customer’s Authorized Signature” line is reserved to receive this action from this Party as proof of his or her intention to pay the above “Total” and leave it uncontested once payment is accepted.
